Arts in Fusion – CD news

Arts in Fusion is dedicated to making recordings of harp music that is alive and being performed today!

The photograph on the left shows the Priory Church of St. Mary and the Holy Cross in Binham, Norfolk. It is where the first two CDs on the Arts in Fusion label were recorded. The sound and atmosphere in this exceptionally beautiful building are perfect for preserving on disc the magnificent resonance and dynamic range of the harp.

I have no wish to say goodbye is a 'CD single' of the trio for harp, cello and lyre that Eleanor composed for the 'Lyre of Ur'. It takes its title from a poem by Deborath Howdle-Smith, the composer's Godmother, whose 19 year old son Adam was murdered in 2002. The CD features Eleanor on harp, Rowena Calvert on cello and Kurdish harpist Tara Jaff on lyre. It will be available to buy from November 2005.

Reaction is the greatly anticipated debut album by harp duo Double Action, featuring cutting-edge contemporary music by Dai Fujikura, Paul Patterson, Geoffrey Poole and Eleanor Turner. Recorded in April 2005 and produced by James Boyd, this CD has been funded generously by the Ralph Vaughan Williams Trust and Stamford Young People's Charity. To be released in November 2005.
