Harp Courses

Eleanor has studied with two of the best harpist and teachers in the UK, Daphne Boden and Alison Nicholls. She has also enjoyed inspirational lessons, masterclasses and courses both in the UK and abroad with Charlotte Seale, Helen Sharp (née Cole), Lucy Wakeford, Catherine Michel, Erika Waardenburg and harpsichordist Douglas Hollick. The advice and generosity of these tutors have had a huge impact on Eleanor's development as a musician and concert artist.

Eleanor employs a variety of styles when teaching, responding to the individual needs of each student and citing much of the wisdom she has gained from her own tutors. She uses Renié and Salzedo methods as a foundation, then draws upon other techniques to suit the genre and period of the music.

In the summer of 2010 Eleanor is teaching on Ruth Faber's Harp Course for 14-18 year olds, in Glastonbury from 10-14 August. email Ruth for information. For dedicated harpists who already achieved a high standard, Eleanor now has her own Advanced Harp Course. This is part of Aberystwyth MusicFest and as there will be ample oppurtunity for chamber music on the course, a library of music is being generously provided by Morley Harps.
